Everton will be looking to keep the pressure on the early frontrunners in the Premier League when Leeds United visit Goodison Park on Saturday.

After nine matches, the Toffees find themselves sixth in the table – five points ahead of fourteenth-place Leeds.

Carlos Ancelotti’s side won their opening four league games this season, but they have only managed to win one of their previous five matches.

Following a draw with Liverpool, along with defeats to Southampton, Newcastle and Manchester United, Everton returned to winning ways against Fulham last weekend.

Unsurprisingly, Dominic Calvert-Lewin netted a brace in the 3-2 victory over the Cottagers. The England striker now has ten goals in nine league outings this term.

The Toffees are enjoying an outstanding home run at the moment, which has seen them lose just two of their last 19 matches at Goodison Park in all competitions.

Everton have also scored over 1.5 goals on their way to winning four of their previous six home games in all competitions.

Meanwhile, Leeds have picked up 11 points from a possible 27 this term and head into Saturday’s clash with a record of W3-D2-L4.

Following a run of three wins in five games, Marcelo Bielsa’s side have now failed to win any of their last three league outings.

After suffering back-to-back 4-1 defeats to Leicester and Crystal Palace, Leeds played out a goalless draw with Arsenal last weekend.

Despite enjoying 67% and racking up 25 shots, as well as playing the majority of the second half against ten men, Leeds were unable to find a way through against the Gunners.

Still, Leeds’ recent away record is promising. Bielsa’s men have managed to claim five wins in their previous seven away matches in all competitions.

Head-to-head: These two sides last faced each other back in 2012, with Leeds beating Everton 2-1 in the League Cup. The previous Premier League meeting between these teams came all the way back in 2004.

Team news: Everton will be without key left-back Lucas Digne for a while, with the Frenchman undergoing surgery. Seamus Coleman and Jean-Phillippe Gbamin are also sidelined.

Adam Forshaw and Gaetano Beradi are both injured for Leeds, while Jamie Shackelton, Pablo Hernandez and Diego Llorente are all doubts.

This is likely to be a high-scoring encounter. Leeds are among the top scorers in the division, yet they also have the second-worst defensive record.

Forebet predicts that both teams will score at Goodison Park on Saturday, with Everton likely to edge Leeds by a single goal.
