Leicester City lead the Premier League after three matchdays and have the opportunity to go into the international break with a perfect winning record.

West Ham have not been quite so good. They have just three points from nine possible. However, a 4-0 thrashing of Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend could be the medicine needed to push the Hammers further up the table.

Leicester City are coming off of a massive 5-2 win away at Manchester City. Although they got a famous win, the Foxes were awarded three penalties. In addition, they were under the cosh for much of the first 30 minutes.

After weathering the storm against the Cityzens, Leicester City found success on the counter-attack and claimed the win. They won’t have the same chances to counter-attack West Ham on matchday 4, however.

Leicester City are unbeaten in four straight games versus West Ham. The Foxes won both matches in 2019-20 versus the Hammers. Leicester City outscored West Ham 6-2 over the course of the 180 minutes of football.

Rodgers has a long list of injured players heading into the weekend. Ricardo Pereira, Filip Benkovic, Cengiz Under, and Wilfried Ndidi are all ruled out of action.

Jamie Vardy is likely to play although he is suffering from a minor hip issue. Demarai Gray and Jonny Evans are doubts for the game as they recover from injury. Meanwhile, Dennis Praet is unlikely to play due to his own injury problem.

Rodgers has spent money this transfer window and the club should officially announce the addition of centre-back Wesley Fofana by the end of the week. The club could also sign Torino defender Gleison Bremer before Monday.

David Moyes may not be on hand for the game as he tested positive for COVID-19 prior to last weekend’s match. Not surprisingly, the team played better without the manager on hand than with him in the stadium.

Josh Cullen and Issa Diop are both ruled out due to positive COVID-19 tests. Ryan Fredericks is also ruled out of the game, but his absence is due to injury.

Leicester City won both games last term and should claim a third straight victory over the Hammers this weekend. Leicester City’s Premier League matches this season all ended with over 2.5 goals scored and Saturday’s fixture should end with over 2.5 goals once more.

Three straight games between the clubs ended with over 2.5 goals scored and this weekend’s game should be another goal-fest.
