Belenenses recent league form has been inconsistent. However, a 2-1 defeat in their last league game at Pacos de Ferreira ended a six-game unbeaten run for the home side in the Primeira Liga. The points gathered during that unbeaten recent run may be enough to keep them clear of the drop zone.
They have had mixed results of late on home soil in the Primeira Liga. However, Belenenses have lost just once in their previous five home games in the Portuguese top-flight.
Sporting are third in the table, four points ahead of fifth-place Famalicao. With this as their game in-hand, the visitors from the Portuguese capital will be confident of remaining in the top-four for the remainder of the season.
Their form has been relatively strong of late, as they head into this clash on the back of a four-game unbeaten run in the Primeira Liga, having recorded three wins and a draw. They have also been prolific in those unbeaten games, scoring at least twice in all three of the wins.
One of Sporting’s achilles heels of late has been their away form, as they have failed to win in their last five away games in the Primeira Liga.
