On Saturday afternoon, Fayzkand Vose and FK Istaravshan go head-to-head in round four of games in the Tajikistan Vysshaya Liga.
Fayzkand have kicked off the new Vysshaya Liga campaign in an unbeaten manner, collecting five points in the process. They started their campaign with a 2-2 draw at Lokomotive Pamir before a 3-2 home win over Regar-TadAZ. Last time out they drew 0-0 at Dushanbe-83.
It has certainly not been a terrible start to life in the top-flight for the home side, who have never previously appeared in the Vysshaya Liga.
Their first two games in the top-flight were entertaining affairs. The fact that they have scored two goals in two of their first three league games suggests that they could be an exciting team to watch this season. As does the home side conceding two goals in each of their opening games too.
Istaravshan have made a terrible start to the new campaign and find themselves bottom of the table. The visitors have suffered three straight defeats against Khatlon, Kuktosh and last time out Regar-TadAZ.
All three defeats have also seen the visitors concede at least two goals in each match. Their recent league outings have been high-scoring in the Tajikistan top-flight, with over 2.5 goals scored in seven of their last eight matches.
Istaravshan have struggled badly for points away from home of late, as they head into this game on the back of just one win in their last six away matches. They have lost five of those six league games.
The major contributing factor to recent poor away results is that the visitors have conceded at least two goals in five of their last six games on their travels.
