The Belarus Premier League continues on this weekend with a big match-up between Belshina Bobruisk and FC Smolevichi. The two sides are propping up the Belarus Premier League and both desperately need wins this weekend.
Belshina Bobruisk are last in the Premier League with just one point from 12 possible. They allow 1.5 goals per match having conceded six total goals in the league. Belshina Bobruisk did obtain a 1-1 draw last time out versus Neman Grodno thanks to a Leonid Kovel 59th-minute goal.
Smolevichi have taken two points from a possible 12 in the league. They too drew last weekend managing a nil-nil result versus Shakhtyor Soligorsk. It was the club’s second draw of the season having previously achieved a point courtesy of a 1-1 result versus Dynamo Brest.
Despite having just two points from 12 this season, Smolevichi have conceded just three times. The problem they have found is in the scoring department. The club have only scored once this term. That goal came in the team’s first game of the season and 270 minutes have now passed without a goal.
These teams have meet four times in the Belarus Premier League dating back to 2017. Two of the fixtures ended in draws while the two sides split wins. Smolevichi have edged Belshina Bobruisk in total goals 4-3. For the most part, however, these sides are equally matched.
Belshina Bobruisk have seen their last three matches in the league end with under 2.5 goals scored. Two of their four matches this term saw both teams score.
Smolevichi saw all four matches thus far end with under 2.5 goals scored. Only once has a Smolevichi match ended with both teams finding the back of the net.
Belshina Bobruisk forward Kovel is tied for second in the Belarus Premier League in goals with two. He is the only player to find the back of the net for Belshina Bobruisk this term. He could do it once more against Smolevichi on Friday.
Both clubs are poor and struggling to collect points. It is likely they with both fight relegation for the entire season. Friday’s game is a massive six-point affair early in the campaign and the team that wins could propel themselves onto greater things.
However, these sides are evenly matched and the game is likely to finish in a score draw with neither team getting the upper hand. Expect under 2.5 goals with both Belshina Bobruisk and Smolevichi scoring.
