After being dealt back-to-back defeats earlier in this season’s Vysshaya Liga campaign, Saturday’s hosts, BATE, have since bounced back in impressive fashion by collecting back-to-back wins.
The hosts will be going in search of a third league win on the trot when they play host to Torpedo Zhodino at their Borisov Arena.
The two defeats were handed to BATE away from home at Energetyk-BGU and Slavia Mozyr in 3-1 and 2-1 losses respectively, but the hosts have responded in promising fashion by recording victories over Rukh Brest 1-0 at home and a resounding 3-0 win on the road at FC Minsk last time out.

BATE will now return to their Borisov Arena for this Saturday’s clash where they’ve lost just 1 of their last 14 matches on home turf, an impressive stretch of results which include no fewer than 12 wins within this sequence.
In addition, BATE have kept 8 clean sheets from these last 14 home matches and they hold a decent record against Torpedo Zhodino as they’ve won 5 of the previous 6 meetings against their visitors.
Onto Torpedo Zhodino then, and the visitors will also head into this upcoming clash against BATE this Saturday on the back of a win in the Vysshaya Liga which came in the shape of a solid 2-0 home win over Energetyk-BGU which has helped Zhodino up into an early top spot in the Belarus top flight table.
Zhodino’s current lofty league position has been helped by recording a 100% winning record on home turf at their Stadyen Tarpeda with victories gained over Belshina and the aforementioned Energetyk, while they also picked up a 1-0 win on the road at Shakhtyor Soligorsk on the opening day of the season.
However, a recent 2-0 defeat away from home at Dinamo Minsk suggests they could struggle to emulate that earlier away win at Shakhtyor against an improving BATE outfit this Saturday, and results on the road have been far from convincing from Torpedo Zhodino.
The visitors have managed to register just 1 away win out of their last 6 matches on the road which was at Shakhtyor but defeats at Shakhtyor, Energetyk-BGU, Dnyapro and Dinamo Minsk make Zhodino a potentially vulnerable target away at BATE this weekend.
