Friday night’s hosts, Dinamo Minsk, find themselves in an early spot of bother in the Belarus Vysshaya Liga as they’ve started the new domestic top flight campaign in disastrous fashion after being dealt back-to-back defeats.
Last season's 4th placed finishers have suffered early setbacks in this new campaign against Ruhk Brest and local rivals, FC Minsk, in 1-0 and 3-2 reverses respectively which has resulted in Dinamo Minsk taking up early residence in the lower reaches of the Vysshaya Liga ahead of this important upcoming clash against Torpedo Zhodino.
To make matters worse, that's now four league defeats on the trot for Dinamo Minsk as they finished up last season’s campaign with defeats to BATE 3-0 away and a 3-1 loss at home to Dinamo Brest.
During this 4-match losing sequence (which has happened at the end of last campaign and start of this new term), Dinamo Minsk have managed just 3 goals for whilst conceding a total of 10 goals against, so the early signs for this new campaign aren’t good.
With just 2 wins out of their last 6 matches at home along with having lost their last two encounters on the trot against Torpedo Zhodino, Dinamo Minsk look to have their work cut out if they’re to get anything out of this clash.
Onto Torpedo Zhodino then, and the visitors by contrast will be heading inot this Friday night encounter in Minsk in confident mood as they’ve picked up wins in each of their first two matches of this new Belarus top flight season.
Victories over Shakhtyor Soligorsk 1-0 away from home on the opening day of the season was swiftly followed up with a 1-0 home win against newcomers, Belshina, which has handed Zhodino the maximum haul of 6 points from their opening two matches of this new term.
Zhodino finished last season in 6th place and early indications suggest that the visitors will be eager to surpass that this time around, but they’ll need to improve results away from home if they’re to emulate 6th place as their win at Shakhtyor ended a run of 4 matches without a win on the road.

Dinamo Minsk have been shaky to say the least so far while Zhodino look to have enough about them to secure an important win.
