On Wednesday night (GMT), Las Sabanas host Real Madriz in the Nicaraguan top-flight, as the visitors look to boost their hopes of a top-six finish and qualification to the next round of the competition.
Las Sabanas are currently bottom of the table, having yielded just six points from their opening 12 league games. Just one league victory in a season is the sort of form that usually sees a team rooted to be the bottom of a league table.
However, their problems didn’t start this season, as the home side has won just two of their last 19 matches in the Primera Division.
Their recent league matches have been tight, low-scoring affairs, with under 2.5 goals scored in six of their last eight games.
Considering their recent league results, it will come as little surprise that Las Sabanas have a poor home record in the Nicaraguan top-flight. They have failed to win in seven home matches in the league, picking up just four draws and suffering three defeats.
Real Madriz are seventh in the table, looking to secure a top-six finish and a place in the next round of the competition. Heading into gameweek 13 the visitors are only outside the top-six by virtue of inferior goal difference to sixth-place Juventus Managua.
The visitors recent league form has been highly inconsistent. They have won their last two games against Municipal Jalapa and Deportivo Ocotal. However, the double win came on the back of a six-game winless league run, in which they suffered five defeats. It seems they have now returned to form with those recent victories.

Both recent victories were secured on home turf, however. Real Madriz have been poor on their travels, losing five of their last six matches away from home.
Forebet predicts that the visitors will record a third straight league win in a high-scoring encounter.
