On Sunday morning, FK Slutsk host Slavia Mozyr at the Stadyen Haradski, as both teams look to start the new Belarus Premier League campaign with a victory.
Both teams finished in midtable last season, with Slutsk finishing 11th and the visitors finishing eighth. However, the home side were much closer to the relegation zone, ending the campaign just five points clear of the drop zone. They will be looking for a more comfortable campaign this time around.
Slutsk finished the campaign with an unbeaten run of three league games, including winning their last two Premier League games against Tarpeda and Neman Grodno. On the flip-side, they also won just two of their final ten league matches, which rather explains why they were relatively close to the relegation zone.
The home side finished the season with a three-game unbeaten run on home soil, although they have won just once in their last five league matches at home. They failed to score in three of their last four league matches at home.
Slavia Mozyr finished last season in good form in the Belarus Premier League, winning three of their last four league outings, scoring at least twice in all three victories. They also lost just once in their last six matches in the Premier League.
The visitors league matches towards the end of the campaign were low-scoring, as five of their last seven Premier League games produced under 2.5 goals.
Slavia’s away form towards the end of last season was inconsistent. However, a record of two wins in their last nine matches on their travels is not a great one. They did however manage to keep clean sheets in three of their last four away matches in the league.
