On Wednesday afternoon, struggling Adamawa United host Enyimba at the Pantami Township Stadium in the Nigerian Premier League.
The home side are experiencing a nightmare campaign so far in the Nigerian top-flight. The home side are currently bottom of the table, eight points from safety. All seems lost for the Gombe-based team in the top-flight.
A 2-1 defeat against Abia Warriors last time out in the league means that they have now lost four of their last five league games.
Adamawa have been poor defensively of late, conceding at least twice in three of those four recent defeats. That is likely to come as little surprise, though, as the home team has the leakiest defence in the Nigerian top-flight this season.

Despite their lowly position in the table, the home team have a decent recent home record in the league, as a 1-0 reverse against Warri Warriors in their last home match ended a three-game winning run on home soil.
The home side will be looking for revenge in this clash, as they suffered a 2-0 defeat earlier this season against the visitors.
Enyimba could still mount a realistic challenge for the Nigerian title this season. The fact that the visitors are 13 points behind league leaders Plateau is misleading, as Fatai Ojo’s team has played five games less than most of their rivals in the league. If results in the midweek fixtures go Enyimba’s way, then the visitors could move up to fourth place in the table.

Enyimba have been in sparkling league form of late, winning six of their last seven outings in the Nigerian Premier League. They have also scored at least two goals in six of their last seven matches.
Forebet predicts that Enyimba will continue their recent strong form by recording a victory in a low-scoring encounter to add to the home sides problems.
