On Wednesday night, Motherwell will look to enhance their chances of making the European spots in the SPL when they host Ross County at Fir Park.
Motherwell currently occupy third place in the SPL, the last spot in the Scottish top-flight that sees a team qualify for European action for next season. However, the home side are just a point clear of fourth place Aberdeen.
A terrible recent run of form has put the Steelman’s chances of a top-three finish in jeopardy.
In fact, the home side has now failed to win in six home matches in the SPL. Last time out in the Scottish top-flight, they suffered a 2-1 home defeat against St. Mirren.
Motherwell have a poor recent home record in the SPL, having failed to win their last five home games in the Scottish top-flight, suffering four defeats in the process. The fact that they have conceded at least two goals in four of their last five home matches in the league has not helped their hopes of clinching a European spot.

Ross are ninth-place in the table, eight points clear of the relegation play-off spots in the SPL. The visitors should have enough points to stay clear of the relegation play-off spots, but will still be looking over their shoulders slightly nervously.
A record of just two wins in their last 12 SPL games is a poor one. However, last time out Ross recorded a 2-1 win at Aberdeen, which will send the visitors into this clash in good heart.
The win at the Dons ended a run of 11 away games without a victory in the SPL for Ross. In fact, they have lost six of their last eight matches on their travels in the Scottish top-flight.
Forebet predicts that Motherwell will get back to form by recording a victory in a high-scoring clash.
