On Wednesday night, Rangers host Hamilton Academicals at Ibrox Stadium, as the Gers look to make up some ground on league leaders and arch-rivals Celtic at the top of the SPL.
It seems that Steven Gerrard’s team’s title hopes are fading fast, as they are currently 12 points behind the reigning champions. They do have a game in hand, though, which may not be enough to end Celtic’s long run of titles. With a home game against Celtic later this month, the picture could look very different if things go their way in next couple of weeks.
An inconsistent recent run of form in the SPL has hampered Rangers hopes of catching their rivals this season. The Gers have won just two of their last five SPL games. Last time out, the home side drew 2-2 at St Johnstone.
Rangers are unbeaten in 11 league matches at Ibrox, having recorded ten victories in the process. Gerrard’s team has kept clean sheets in six of their last seven matches.

Hamilton Academical’s are currently second from bottom in the SPL, just two points clear of the relegation zone. Their current position is the relegation play-off spot. The visitors are four points adrift of the safety of tenth spot in the table.
A poor recent run of form in the SPL has dented their survival hopes, as they have failed to win in seven league outings.
The visitors away form has been poor of late, as they have won just once in 14 away games in the Scottish top-flight. In fact, they have won just two of their last 18 league matches on their travels.
They have struggled defensively on their travels, having kept just one clean sheet in their last ten away games in the SPL.
Forebet predicts that Rangers will record a victory in a high-scoring encounter to keep their slim title hopes alive.
