On Tuesday night, Hibernian host Hearts at Easter Road in the SPL, in an Edinburgh derby that could be key to the visitor's fight to preserve their top-flight status.
Hibs are currently sixth place in the Scottish top-flight table, five points outside the European spots in the SPL. Jack Ross’s team head into this clash unbeaten in five matches in all competitions, having recorded four wins in the process.
The home side has also been prolific in front of goal, scoring at least twice in six of their last eight competitive games.
Their recent record in the SPL is not a bad one either, as they are unbeaten in three matches, having recorded two wins. Last time out in the Premiership they drew 1-1 at home against Livingston.
Hibs have been hard to beat at Easter Road in the Scottish top-flight of late, losing just once in their last 11 matches. However, six of those unbeaten games have produced draws.
Hearts are in the midst of a nightmare season. Daniel Stendel’s team are currently six points adrift of the safety of tenth place in the table. The Jambos recent form has been mixed. Last time out, they recorded a 1-0 win over Rangers in the FA Cup.
However, they have failed to win in their last four SPL games, while conceding at least two goals in all four winless matches. Their defensive vulnerable has contributed to their last five matches in the Premiership producing over 2.5 goals.
Hearts have found it highly difficult to win on their travels in the SPL, as they have won just one of their last 18 away games. Ironically, that one win was at Easter Road against Hibernian back in September.
Forebet predicts that Hibs will record a victory in a low-scoring game to add to their neighbour's fears of relegation.
