Crystal Palace will be looking to end a five-game winless run when they welcome Sheffield United to Selhurst Park on Saturday.

Chris Wilder’s side have also endured some disappointing results of late, recording just one win in their previous six league games.

The Eagles come into this game in 11th place in the Premier League table – three points and three places behind Sheff Utd.

Palace’s last victory came on Boxing Day when they beat West Ham. Roy Hodgson’s side registered three consecutive 1-1 draws after that before claiming another draw at the Etihad Stadium against Manchester City.

Hodgson’s men then suffered a poor 2-0 defeat to Southampton last time out. The Eagles failed to notch up a single shot on target against Saints and were dominated throughout the game.

Sheff Utd claimed a 2-0 win over Millwall in their previous game. The Blades progressed into the fifth round of the FA Cup thanks to goals from Mo Besic and Oliver Norwood.

However, Wilder’s side have had a tricky run of league fixtures recently, facing Man City twice, Liverpool and Arsenal all in the space of one month.

Despite their testing run, Sheff Utd still boast the second-best defensive record in the division. Only league leaders Liverpool have conceded fewer goals than the Blades in 2019/20.

Sheff Utd’s solid backline has led to them being formidable both home and away. In fact, the Blades have only lost two of their 12 league games away from Bramall Lane this term.

On the other hand, Crystal Palace have struggled at Selhurst Park. The Eagles have only managed to score 10 home goals this season – the lowest number of home goals of any side in the division.

Sheff Utd claimed a narrow 1-0 victory when they faced Palace earlier in the season. John Lundstram’s goal was the difference between the two teams at Bramall Lane.

However, the overall head-to-record is even. Both sides have claimed 21 wins each in this fixture, while 12 games have ended in a draw.

Crystal Palace will be without Andros Townsend, Jefferey Schlupp, Patrick van Anholt and Mamdou Sakho this weekend, while Christian Benteke continues to recover from injury.

David McGoldrick is the only doubt for Sheff Utd, so Chris Wilder will again have a full-strength squad to choose from.

Both Palace and Sheff Utd have struggled to score goals this season, but both sides have been solid defensively.

For that reason, Forebet predicts that this game will end in a low-scoring draw.
