Manchester United are the only Premier League team to take points off of Liverpool this season. While the Reds have beaten everyone before them, they could only manage a come from behind 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.

Now, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team will aim for a massive three points at Anfield. The Red Devils head into the game winners in midweek against Wolverhampton Wanderers in an FA Cup third round replay, 1-0.

Manchester United laboured to the victory but it was their second straight win in all competitions after beating Norwich City in the league last weekend, 4-0. Manchester United did suffer another injury casualty in midweek as leading scorer Marcus Rashford went down with a back injury.

Rashford, who has scored 14 league goals, is now a doubt for the game. However, with Manchester United playing their biggest rival, expect the striker to do everything in his power to be on the bench at the very least.

Liverpool are coming off of a 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur. The Reds dominated the game but did nearly blow the lead late on due to mental lapses in defence.

Manager Jurgen Klopp could have a trio of players back from injury for the fixture. Centre-backs Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren are nearing full fitness. Matip is training with the first team and should be included. However, Joe Gomez’s form means Matip will most likely be on the bench.

Defensive midfielder Fabinho is likely to be on the bench as well. He is also training with the first team, but with the likes of Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain playing so well, he could start on the bench.

Solskjaer has a host of injuries other than Rashford as Luke Shaw, Paul Pogba, Scott McTominay, and Marcos Rojo are all ruled out of the match. The manager is likely to start Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial in attack if Rashford is not fit.

Liverpool are unbeaten in their last three matches against Manchester United in the league. Their last two trips to Old Trafford both ended in draws; but ast season’s match at Anfield saw Liverpool win 3-1 thanks to a goal from Sadio Mane and two from Xherdan Shaqiri.

The Reds’ win last season was the final straw for Jose Mourinho at the club. He was fired shortly thereafter.

Liverpool have kept six straight clean sheets in the Premier League. Expect the Reds to win to nil once more in a very close game at Anfield on Sunday.
