This season has been another rollercoaster of a campaign for everybody connected with Dortmund. BVB head into Saturday’s trip to Augsburg in need of a victory to get their campaign back on track.

Star forward’s Jadon Sancho and Marco Reus have played key roles in their recent forward endeavours, both finding the net on nine occasions in the German top-flight. It is at the other end of the pitch were BVB’s problems have lied, as the home side have a worse defence than any of the Bundesliga’s top six teams.

Augsburg are smack bang in the middle of the Bundesliga table. The home side are five points outside the European spots and eight points clear of the relegation play-off spot.
Martin Schmidt’s team ended 2019 with five wins from their last seven matches in the German top-flight. A 3-1 defeat at league leaders RB Leipzig ended a promising six-game unbeaten run in the top-flight.
Augsburg have won their last three home games in the Bundesliga while scoring at least two goals in each victory.
