On Saturday afternoon, Charlton host West Brom at the Valley, in what could be a massive game at both ends of the Championship table.
The hosts are just looking to avoid the drop to League One and kick-off this game five points clear of the relegation zone in the second tier. The visitors are fighting for automatic promotion though under Croatian head coach Slaven Bilic.
A recent run of just one win in 15 games has the Addicks looking nervously over their shoulder at the league’s bottom three. A 1-0 defeat at Swansea City was proceeded by a 2-1 defeat against Derby County.
Poor defensive displays have been a big factor in the home sides recent inconsistent form, as Lee Bowyer’s team have conceded at least two goals in four of their last five outings in the English second tier.
A poor recent home record in the Championship has also hindered their chances of moving away from the drop zone. In fact, Charlton have won just one of their last six league matches at the Valley.
West Brom are looking good for automatic promotion this season. The Baggies are level on points with leaders Leeds at the top of the table, nine points clear of the teams that occupy the play-off spots in the second tier.
However, the Baggies Championship form has dipped of late, as they have failed to win in their last four outings in the second tier of English football. A home draw against top of the table rivals Leeds last time out means that the visitors have drawn three of their last four matches in the second tier.
Bilic’s team have maintained a seven-game unbeaten run on their travels despite their inconsistent form of late.
Forebet are backing the Baggies to return to winning ways at the Valley to make things even more nervous for the home side.
