Stoke City will play host to former manager, Gary Rowett, and his Millwall side at the bet365 Stadium with both teams experiencing very different fortunes so far in this season’s Championship campaign.

Recent wins against Sheffield Wednesday 3-2 and a rousing 5-2 win away from home at Huddersfield Town have helped lift Stoke City out of the bottom three in the Championship but The Potters are by no means out of the woods yet.

Only one point separates Stoke City from third from bottom club Wigan Athletic ahead of this weekend’s action in the Championship, but recent results on home turf at their bet365 Stadium have given Stoke and manager, Michael O’Neill, reason to believe that they can pull themselves further away from the relegation zone.

Stoke have suffered just 1 defeat out of their last 5 matches at home in the second tier which was a 2-1 loss to Blackburn Rovers, but victories over Wigan Athletic, Luton Town and Sheffield Wednesday will have given The Potters a much-needed boost.

Former Stoke City boss, Gary Rowett, brings his Millwall side to the bet365 Stadium on the back of 3 wins on the trot in all competitions following wins in the Championship against Brentford and Luton Town, as well as their 3-0 home win against Newport County in the third round of the FA Cup.

Having lost just 1 of their last 11 matches overall in the Championship, Millwall will be in a confident frame of mind ahead of their trip to the Potteries, as their strong sequence of results has lifted The Lions up into 7th place and just a point behind 6th placed Swansea City and the play-off pack.

Results away from home have also been impressive as the London club have put together a sequence of 5 matches without defeat on their travels which includes wins at Swansea City, Bristol City and Derby County.

Millwall might just edge this one but it’s hard to rule Stoke City out of picking something up from this clash as they too have made improvements under O’Neill, and they hold home advantage at the bet365 Stadium.

Both teams have made progress in recent times and as 9 of Millwall’s 13 away matches this season have seen both teams score, this could be the outcome of Saturday’s clash.
