AC Milan endured a poor start to their Serie A campaign and the Rossoneri are not out of the woods just yet when it comes to bad form. On Monday afternoon, they face a home game with another struggling team in Sampdoria.
The home side may have lost just once in five Serie A games, but they have also won just two of their last seven games in the Italian top-flight.
In their last outing prior to the winter break, the men from Milan suffered a humiliating 5-0 defeat at Atalanta. The result was just another poor one in a season of poor results.
The Rossoneri’s poor run of recent results has them in limbo in the Italian top-flight table. They are eight points from the European spots, but also just seven points clear of the relegation zone.

In times gone by the San Siro was once a fortress for Milan. However, the boys in red and black have failed to impress on home soil of late in Serie A. A record of just one win in their last seven home outings in the Italian top-flight is not a great one.
Milan may be enduring a poor campaign, but it is even worse for Sampdoria, who are just a point above the relegation zone. The team from Genoa lost three of their last four games in 2019, which did not help their chances of breaking clear of the drop zone.
In truth, their recent matches in Serie A have been tight affairs, as they have not lost any of their last 12 leagues games by more than a goal.
Samp’s recent away results have been another negative contributing factor to their perilous position, as they have won just two of their last 12 matches in the Italian top-flight.
