Monchengladbach have enjoyed an impressive start to their Bundesliga campaign. However, their performances in the Europa League have not matched their domestic displays.
On Thursday evening, Marco Rose’s side face a short trip to Austria to face Wolfsberger in gameweek five of their Europa League campaign.
Gladbach’s form has slipped all-around of late. However, a 2-0 defeat at Union Berlin on Saturday ended a three-game winning run in all competitions. One of those wins was a 2-1 victory over Roma in this competition to get their European campaign back on track.

The victory over the Giallorossi ended a five-game winless run in the Europa League for the visitors, dating back to 2017. To be fair four of those five winless matches ended all-square.
Rose’s team are currently third-place in the group, level on points with the second-place visitors. Both teams are also two points behind group leaders Istanbul Basaksehir.
Monchengladbach have been difficult to beat on their travels in the Europa League, losing just once in their last nine away games. The German side has also drawn their last three matches on their travels in this competition.
Wolfsberger head into this encounter in inconsistent form. Mohamed Sahli’s team has won just two of their last eight games in all competitions.
The home side has struggled for results in the Europa League since a shock gameweek one 4-0 victory at Monchengladbach. The Austrian team have failed to win since the victory, losing their last two European outings against Istanbul Basaksehir home and away, suffering a 3-0 home defeat against the Turkish team last time out.
The omens are not good for a Wolfsberger victory, as they have failed to win in three games on home soil in the Europa League, suffering two defeats in the process.
Forebet predicts that Monchengladbach will record a victory in a high-scoring game to enhance their qualification hopes.
