Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain head to Dijon to take on the division’s last-place team on Friday night.

Dijon have taken a mere nine points from 33 possible and sit in last place in the league. Although Dijon lost their most recent Ligue 1 fixture, they had been on a four-match unbeaten run. Could Dijon’s form be turning around?

Dijon have not beaten Paris Saint-Germain since 2011 when they claimed a 3-2 home cup win. Since that one victory, Paris Saint-Germain have won nine straight games against Dijon.

The home team may feel confident going into the match as they are unbeaten in their last three home matches. They have taken five of 15 points at the Stade Gaston Gerard. Dijon suffered a League Cup loss to Bordeaux in midweek, 2-0, away.

Paris Saint-Germain are coming off a 4-0 thrashing of derby rival Marseille last weekend. The Parisians had little difficulty dispatching one of Ligue 1’s top teams and were up four goals by halftime.

Injuries have eased up at the Parc des Prince as both Mauro Icardi and Kylian Mbappe were in the Paris Saint-Germain starting XI against Marseille. The duo scored two goals apiece and drove the Parisian attack forward.

Neymar’s absence remains the big talking point in Paris as the forward has missed over half of the team’s games due to injury or suspension since arriving.

A new rift has been opened up between the Brazilian national team and Paris Saint-Germain as fingers are being pointed over Neymar’s latest hamstring injury.

While Neymar is dissatisfied at Paris Saint-Germain, midfielder Marco Verratti has pledged his future to the club this week. The Italian signed a new contract keeping him at the Ligue 1 club until 2024.

Paris Saint-Germain have scored at least two goals per match against Dijon in eight straight matches. The Parisians have been excellent in attack against their opponents when meeting.

That won’t change on Friday night as Paris Saint-Germain put goals past the league’s worst side. Paris Saint-Germain have won to nil four straight times against Dijon in all competitions. The trend of Paris Saint-Germain winning to nil will continue.

The Parisians will put over 2.5 goals into the back of the net as they keep a 12th clean sheet in all competitions.
