Fans of Ligue 1 in France will be delighted as we have a full set of mid-week fixtures to enjoy.  the first games take place on Tuesday night and we have an intriguing encounter between Monaco and Nice to look forward to at the Stade Louis II.

This is a massive game for both teams for different reasons.  Monaco are hoping to move out of the relegation zone with a win while Nice are looking at the opposite end and aiming to stay in touch with Paris Saint-Germain for as long as possible.

Monaco come into the match on the back of a 0-0 draw at Reims on the weekend. It was their sixth match of the campaign and only their 3rd point.  Monaco have yet to win a match in Ligue 1 this season and will want to change that statistic in this match.

They have drawn three and lost three of their six games.  The draws have come at home to Nimes and away to Strasbourg and Reims.  Two of the defeats have been at home to Lyon and Marseille with the other coming away to Metz.

Trends show Monaco have won only one of their last eight home Ligue 1 games and the victory came last season.  They have conceded 2 or more goals in four of their last five home league matches but have also scored 2 or more goals in the same number of games.

Nice have made a promising start to the 2019/20 Ligue 1 season and defeated Dijon 2-1 on the weekend to make it four wins from six matches. The other three victories have come at home against Amiens and away to Nimes and Rennes.

Nice have lost two matches this season and both were close games as they went down 2-1 at home to Marseille and 2-1 at Montpellier.  Nice have yet to draw a match this season.

Trends show they have been involved in plenty of exciting games and Nice have seen both team score in each of their six Ligue 1 matches this season.  They have also seen over 2.5 goals scored in all six of their games plus each match has ended in with the score 2-1, whether it be for or against Nice.

Team news and Monaco are still without forward Stevan Jovetic who has a knee injury.  They also have doubts over the fitness of several players including Danijel Subasic, Islam Slimani, Willem Geubbels and Wissam Ben Yedder.

Nice travel without Remi Walter who has a knee injury.  They also have a few potential absentees including Mohamed Diaby, Christophe Herelle, Dante, Gautier Lloris and Ibrahim Cisse.

We will see goals in this match but it is Nice who are the most likely to come away with the win.  An away win and over 2.5 goals seems a good bet.
