Reigning Ligue One champions PSG have not been all-conquering so far this season in the French top-flight. On Friday night, Thomas Tuchel’s expensive outfit visit Metz.
Metz have enjoyed the definition of an inconsistent start to the new Ligue One season, winning one, drawing one and losing one of their opening three games in the French top-flight. Last time out, the home side suffered a 3-0 mauling at the hands of Angers.
Their relatively poor start to the new season will not come as much of a surprise, as they also finished last season in poor form.
In fact, Metz have now won just once in their last eight league outings. An even more worrying statistic for the home side is that they have won just twice in 18 league games.
Another concern for Metz is their recent home form in Ligue One, as the win over Monaco in gameweek two ended a seven-game winless run on home soil in the top-flight. With PSG the latest visitors, it seems unlikely that their poor home record will improve anytime soon.

PSG have won two of their three Ligue One games this season, as they set about another title defence. Last time out, the Parisians recorded a 4-0 home win against Toulouse after a shock 2-1 defeat at Rennes in their previous league outing.
The visitors Ligue One form dating back to last season is pretty inconsistent, and they have only won four of their last eight matches in the French top-flight.
The champions recent away record is woeful in Ligue One, as they have lost five of their last six matches on their travels in the French top-flight.
However, Forebet predicts that Tuchel’s side will improve that poor away record of late by recording a victory in a high-scoring clash.
