Crystal Palace host Aston Villa on Saturday after both sides picked up their first win of the season in the previous round.

Palace clinched a rare victory at Old Trafford while Villa put in an impressive display to overcome Everton.

A debut goal from Wesley gave Villa the lead in their last match before substitute Anwar El Ghazi sealed all three points for Dean Smith’s side.

This was Villa’s first top-flight victory since February 2016, as they failed to win any of their last 13 matches in their previous stint in the Premier League.

Aston Villa have scored in each of their three league games so far this season but have also conceded seven goals.

On the other hand, Crystal Palace have a goal difference of 0 after scoring two and conceding two from their three matches.

Crystal Palace beat Manchester United at Old Trafford for the first time since 1989 thanks to an injury-time winner from Patrick van Aanholt last time out.

This was the Eagles’ fifth win in their last 10 Premier League matches after a promising end to the previous campaign.

Gary Cahill made his debut for the club last weekend following his move from Chelsea and the former England defender will be hoping for back-to-back starts on Saturday.

Palace also have a number of players close to returning from injury so it’s tough to predict how Roy Hodgson will set his team up.

As for Villa, Jonathan Kodjia should be fit to face Palace following an ankle problem while Tyrone Mings is likely to pass a fitness test following an injury scare in the warm up against Everton.

Aston Villa and Crystal Palace have met 43 times over the years, and Villa have the edge with 18 wins to Palace’s 11.

However, the Eagles have had the upper hand in recent seasons. The two teams have played six top-flight matches in the past decade, with Palace boasting a record of W3-D1-L2.

Four of those six matches ended with a 1-0 scoreline, while the other two matches had just three goals between them.

The recent history is pointing towards a low scoring match again this time around, and judging by both team’s unpredictable starts to the new campaign, a draw is looking likely.

Forebet predicts a low scoring draw.
