Wolverhampton Wanderers head to the King Power Stadium following a big Europa League qualifying win over FC Pyunik, 4-0. Now, Nuno Espirito Santo’s team takes a step up in competition to kick off the Premier League season.

While Wolverhampton Wanderers have played three Europa League qualifying matches thus far, Leicester City have been preparing for the long-haul of the domestic season. The Foxes played six preseason matches going undefeated.

Leicester City’s final preseason tune-up saw them defeat Serie A and Champions League team Atalanta 2-1. Manager Brendan Rodgers spent his first offseason with the club and has moulded it accordingly.

Rodgers did suffer the transfer loss of centre-back Harry Maguire, but Leicester City still have a highly capable team that should be nearly as good at the back without him.

Rodgers may have to rely on veteran centre-backs Jonny Evans and Wes Morgan in defence. Both are Premier League winners and can still do a job.

Leicester City’s attack is exciting with Ayoze Perez and Dennis Praet joining James Maddison, Demarai Gray, and Jamie Vardy. Rodgers has a plethora of attacking options.

However, the problem is, Rodgers created an attack heavy team at Liverpool that was thin at the back. Can the same tactic work at Leicester City?

Wolverhampton Wanderers added a number of players this summer. If there is a team that can crash the Premier League top six, it very well could be Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Santo signed striker Patrick Cutrone from AC Milan and attacking midfielder Meritan Shabani from Bayern Munich. Both will add punch to a strong attack led by forward Raul Jimenez.

Leicester City won this fixture last season at the King Power Stadium, 2-0. A Matt Doherty own goal was followed by a Maddison strike. Leicester City had the match wrapped up in the first half with Wolves failing to trouble them.

Wolverhampton Wanderers did exact revenge later in the season at home. Wolves posted a win in a thrilling 4-3 fixture at Molineaux.

Leicester City are undefeated in 13 of the last 19 matches in all competitions they have played against Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Foxes have not lost to Wolverhampton Wanderers at the King Power Stadium since 2007.

Wolves have gone 12 years without beating Leicester City away and it is unlikely to happen on Sunday. With Wolverhampton Wanderers currently focused on Europa League qualification, they should struggle against the Foxes.

Leicester City will post another home victory against Wolves with under 2.5 goals going into the nets.
