There are three games to look forward to in the Swedish Allsvenskan on Sunday 28th July.  One of which involves the current league leaders who travel to the Jämtkraft Arena to play Östersunds FK.

The hosts find themselves in 8th place in the table with 19 points from sixteen games played.  Malmö FF have played one match more than their opponents but have 36 points to their name.

Östersunds FK come into this match having suffered a 3-0 defeat at Norrkoping last weekend. They almost held out to half-time but conceded 2 goals just before the break and could not get back into the match.  That result means a gap of 8 points has opened between themselves in 8th and Norrkoping in 7th place.

Trend show Östersunds FK have won only one of their last ten Allsvenskan matches and that’s not the form you want when welcoming the league leaders.  The only victory in their last ten games came to Norrkoping two weeks ago and prior to that Östersunds FK lost three and were held in five of their league matches.

However, they have not been easy to beat at home and Östersunds FK have lost just one of their last nine home Allsvenskan games.  Nonetheless, they have won only one of their last five on home soil and kept one clean sheet.  Scoring goals has also been a bit of an issue and only once in their last five at home have they scored more than once in a game.

Malmö FF played in the Europa League qualifiers on Thursday night and picked up a 2-2 draw at Domžale of Slovenia. That result gives them a good chance of progressing to the next round of qualification to the group stages.

In the Allsvenskan, Malmö FF were held to a 1-1 home draw by Sirius last weekend, which was a disappointing result in their pursuit of the title.  However, it does mean they are undefeated in their last fifteen Allsvenskan matches and have been very difficult to beat.

Trends show Malmö FF have won three and drawn four of their last seven away league games.  They have drawn three of the last four, two of which ended 0-0 and the other ended 1-1.  There have been under 2.5 goals scored in each of Malmö FF’s last four away Allsvenskan matches.

Team news and Östersunds FK have both Jerell Sellars and Simon Kroon back in training so they could be available this weekend.

Malmö FF have doubts over the fitness of Søren Rieks and Arnor Ingvi Traustason.  It will also be interesting to see if they make any changes following the Europa League trip on Thursday.

Given their exploits in mid-week and recent tendency to draw away league games, there is potential for Östersunds FK to take a point off Malmö FF.  However, do not expect many goals and we could see under 2.5 goals scored.
