On Wednesday morning (GMT), K-League title challengers Seoul head to strugglers Jeju United at the Jeju World Cup Stadium.
The home side are experiencing a hugely difficult campaign, which has led to the host's lowly position of 11th place in the South Korean top-flight table.
A 2-0 defeat at Suwon Bluewings last time out means that Jeju have suffered five defeats in their last six league outings while winning just once in their last nine league games.
Woeful defensive performances have been at the heart of Jeju’s poor run of form, as they have conceded at least twice in seven of their last nine K-League outings. Their poor recent defensive displays mean that no other team has conceded more goals than the 35 conceded by the home team in South Korean top-flight.
Jeju’s league struggles have not been helped by woeful home results of late, as they have lost eight of their last 11 games on home soil in the K-League.
Seoul heads into this clash on the back of a ten-game unbeaten run in the K-League, which has helped the team from the capital to third-place in the table and just two points off top spot.
The visitors have drawn their last two league outings against top-six rivals Ulsan and Gangwon. The games produced over 2.5 goals, just like Seoul’s last six matches in the K-League.
The high-scoring games have not been surprising, as only leaders Jeonbuk Motors have scored more than Seoul’s 32 goals in the K-League this season.
As well a ten-game unbeaten run in the league, Seoul are also in the midst of a five-game unbeaten run on their travels in the K-League.
There has been a major difference in the two teams’ performances late. Therefore, it is unsurprising that Forebet predicts that prolific Seoul will record a victory in a high-scoring encounter.
