Finland Veikkauliiga third-place team FC Honka take on fourth-place KuPS on Saturday in a massive match. Both teams are in-form and have the Veikkausliiga title in their sights.
FC Honka are just two points back of league leaders Ilves and could go top of the table with a win and Ilves loss to SJK. Meanwhile, KuPS could also go top of the table if they claim victory. Like FC Honka, they will need results to go their way elsewhere too.
Manager Vasa Vasara’s FC Honka are undefeated in their last three matches. The Espoo-based club has picked up seven points from a possible nine. Their two wins saw FC Honka keep clean sheets with under 1.5 goals scored in both matches
Last weekend, Vasara’s team picked up a 2-2 draw against Mariehamn away from home. FC Honka are undefeated in four of their last five home matches.
Four of the five games saw under 2.5 goals scored. FC Honka have scored eight goals at the Tapiolan Urheilupuisto while conceding seven times.
KuPS go into the weekend having collected seven points from their last nine possible. Their matches have seen more goals than FC Honka’s last three fixtures as KuPS outscored opponents 8-3.
The Canaries’ away form has been very good with them collecting 12 points from 21 possible this season. They are undefeated in their last two road games with over 1.5 goal scored in both. In addition, their last two away fixtures have seen both teams score.
FC Honka and KuPS have already played once this season with that fixture taking place in April. FC Honka claimed a big 3-0 victory over the Canaries on the road. Juha Hakola, Borja Martin, and Arlind Sejdiu scored the goals for FC Honka.
Martin is second in the Veikkausliiga in goal scored this season. He has tallied seven of FC Honka’s 19 goals. The team doesn’t score a lot (19 goals) and keeps games close thanks to defence (14 conceded).
KuPS possess the league’s second leading scorer in Rangel. The Brazilian has bagged eight of KuPS’s 23 goals this term. Teammate Ville Saxman has added four of his own to the KuPS cause.
FC Honka are undefeated in their last six matches against KuPS in all competitions. Three of those games finished in draws.

Saturday’s game will feature two of the best teams in the Veikkausliiga. Despite losing to FC Honka earlier this season, KuPS will hang with their opponents and claim a score draw.
The two clubs should combine for over 1.5 goals with both teams finding the back of the net in a draw.
