On Friday morning, Beijing Guoan will look to maintain their position at the top of the Chinese Super League as they welcome Shanghai Shenhua to the Worker’s Stadium.
The club from the Chinese capital have been in good form of late and are currently two points ahead of Shanghai SIPG, who occupy second place in the standings.
In fact, Beijing Guoan have kicked off their league campaign by winning 11 of their first 12 matches in the Chinese Super League, including last time out by winning 2-1 at Tianjin Teda.
The home sides recent outings in the league have been high-scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in their last four matches.
A big factor in their stellar league position this season has been their home form, as they are unbeaten in seven home games, having recorded six straight wins. Beijing’s attacking potency has been on full display in recent home matches, as they have scored at least twice in their last six league games on home soil.
Shanghai Shenhua have made a poor start to their league campaign and currently sit in the relegation zone in 15th place in the league standings.
The fact that the visitors have failed to win in their last eight matches in the Chinese Super League has not helped their plight. Last time out they drew 0-0 against Chongqing Lifan. Their last outing was an example of another low-scoring game for Shanghai, as it was their third match out of four in the league that had produced under 2.5 goals.
The visitors have been poor away from home in the Chinese Super League, failing to win in their last five outings, picking up just two draws and suffering three defeats.
Forebet predicts that Beijing Guoan will maintain their position at the top of the Chinese Super League table by recording a victory in a low-scoring encounter.
