Montreal Impact look to record 3 points against lowly Orlando
    31/05/19 2045

Montreal Impact made a good start to their 4-game home stretch when they registered a 2-1 win over Real Salt Lake on Wednesday night and they’ll be looking for more of the same when they entertain third from bottom side, Orlando City, in this all-Eastern Conference clash.

Montreal had previously gone without a win in the MLS for 3 matches which included defeats to Cincinnati and Los Angeles, but it should be noted that both of these losses were inflicted upon them away from home.

Meanwhile on home turf at their Stade Saputo, Montreal have lost just 1 out of their last 11 matches and that was a 2-0 loss to 6th placed New York City, but so far this season, the Canadian outfit have registered wins over Columbus Crew, Chicago Fire and the aforementioned result against Real Salt Lake.

Montreal’s main goal threats have come from their midfield pair, Taider (5 goals) and Piatti (3 goals) while forwards Urruti and Browne have also been a handful.

Orlando City suffered a 4th defeat in 5 matches last time out when they were beaten 1-0 at home to LA Galaxy which has left the visitors third from bottom in the Eastern Conference.

Orlando City had previously also lost to Toronto, Atlanta United and Seattle Sounders while recording just 1 win from their last 5 matches which was a 5-1 thrashing of bottom club, Cincinnati at their Orlando City Stadium.

Meanwhile, away form home, Orlando City recorded an impressive 1-0 win away at New York Red Bulls earlier in the season towards the end of March, but the visitors have since slumped to 4 away matches without a win.

Within this 4-match slump are three defeats at Real Salt Lake 2-1, Atlanta United 1-0 and a 2-1 loss at Seattle Sounders.

The bigger picture further expands Orlando City’s problems away from home in the MLS too as they’ve registered just 1 win from their last 20 matches on the road, a very poor sequence of results which also include no fewer than 17 defeats on their travels.

Recent history also appears to be against Orlando City as they’ve lost all of the previous 4 encounters against Montreal Impact with two losses both home and away, and this losing trend looks set to continue at Montreal on Saturday.
