Two of the clubs promoted from the Championship last season will meet on the penultimate weekend of the 2018/19 Premier League campaign.  However, they come together in completely different circumstances as Wolverhampton Wanderers host Fulham at Molineux.

It has been a fantastic season for Wolves and although many people predicted they would do well, to possibly finish 7th in the Premier League would be a tremendous achievement. Fulham on the other hand have been relegated and have only pride to play for until the end of the season.

Wolves come into this game having recorded a good 2-1 win at fellow 7th place hopefuls Watford last weekend. That was their second Premier League win in succession following the 3-1 home victory over Arsenal on the Wednesday before. That means Wolves have remained undefeated in their last three matches.

Trends show Wolves are tough to beat at home and they have remained undefeated in their last ten games at Molineux in all competitions. There have been wins in the Premier League over Leicester City, West Ham United, Cardiff City, Manchester United and Arsenal.

Wolves have scored 2 or more goals in eight of their last ten home matches and that includes the FA Cup wins over Liverpool and Manchester United. Wolves have won by 2 or more goals in three of their last six home Premier League games.

With relegation confirmed, Scott Parker is making a good claim to become the permanent manager of Fulham next season. Trends show they have won each of their last three Premier League games, picking up wins at home against Everton and Cardiff City plus defeating Bournemouth on the road.

The big improvement has come in defence and Fulham have kept a clean sheet in all three of those matches, having failed to keep a clean sheet in the fourteen games that proceeded the win over Everton at Craven Cottage.

However, there is no getting away from their poor overall away form and Fulham have won only three of their last twenty-three away games in all competitions. They have lost seven of their last eight and conceded 2 or more goals in each of the seven defeats.

Looking ahead to the team news and Wolves have every player available for this game. They are sure to play their first choice XI and try and end the season with a good win in-front of their own fans.

Fulham could be without Denis Odoi who went off injured against Cardiff City and Cyrus Christie could come into the team. Marcus Bettinelli, Lazar Markovic and Timothy Fosu-Mensah are injured.

Given the form of Wolves at home and the success of their season overall, this has to go down as a home win with the hosts scoring 2 or more goals.
