Can Cardiff Move Out of Bottom Three with a Win?

Can Cardiff Move Out of Bottom Three with a Win?

The Premier League action starts early this weekend with a match on Friday night.  Cardiff City host Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Cardiff City Stadium in Wales in what is a huge game for both teams.

Cardiff City know a win could see them move out of the bottom three and into a safe position in the Premier League.  Wolves are hoping to bounce back from a disappointing home defeat at the hands of Huddersfield Town last weekend and move into the top half of the table.

This is a good chance for Cardiff City to pick up a much needed win at home.  The Bluebirds have won two of their last five Premier League matches, with both wins coming at home.  They defeated Fulham and Brighton and Hove Albion and will believe Wolves give them a chance to make it three wins for the season.

However, general form has been poor and Cardiff City have won only two of their last fifteen matches in all competitions.  They have lost nine of their last eleven and have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of those eleven games.

Cardiff City have scored 7 goals in their last four home Premier League matches and will believe they can find the back of the net in this match.

Wolves come into this game on the back of a poor 2-0 loss at home against Huddersfield Town.  That game was a great chance for Wolves to get back to winning ways but they were poor as they lost to a team below them in the table.

That result means Wolves have failed to win any of their last five games in the Premier League and you must go back to the match against Crystal Palace on the 6th October to find the last time they won a game.

Wolves have lost four of those five games but trends show they are not easy to beat away from home. Wolves have lost just one of their last five away matches in all competitions and will be hoping to further improve that record.

Wolves have conceded no more than a single goal in each of their last six away matches but have managed just six goals themselves across the same period of games.

Looking ahead to the team news and Cardiff City will be without Kenneth Zohore who continues to struggle with a calf problem.  Nathaniel Mendez-Laing is doubtful but every other player is available for Neil Warnock.

Wolves travel without Jonny and the Spanish wing-back is set for a spell on the sidelines following an injury while playing for his country.  Adama Traore is pushing for a start and Nuno Espirito Santo may make a few changes following the defeat last weekend.

This could be a very close game, without much to choose between the teams.  Cardiff City will expect to score but Wolves have the extra bit of quality in the midfield and attacking areas which could see them leave Wales with a win.
