Eintracht Frankfurt to continue unbeaten run

Eintracht Frankfurt to continue unbeaten run

Eintracht Frankfurt supporters were greatly worried they would take a major step backwards after winning last season’s German Cup. Manager Niko Kovac left for Bayern Munich after turning Frankfurt into a major player in Germany once more.

Yet, Frankfurt haven’t reverted into a relegation struggler under head coach Adi Hutter. The Austrian has Die Adler flying high in both the league and the Europa League. On Friday night, Frankfurt will aim for their fifth match without a loss.

Standing in Frankfurt’s way are Stuttgart, who currently sit second to bottom in the Bundesliga thanks to goal difference. Stuttgart played well last term finishing seventh, two points ahead of Frankfurt.

Yet, this season hasn’t been kind to Die Roten as they have managed just one win from nine. That win came well over a month ago against Werder Bremen. Since then, Stuttgart have lost three straight games by a combined score of 11-1. Die Roten have been held scoreless in their last two matches.

The last six games between the two German teams have seen goals galore. The sides have tallied 28 goals in six matches for an impressive 4.7 goals per game average. Stuttgart have edged the head-to-head over those six matches with four wins while Frankfurt have managed just two.

Last season saw the two clubs split the season series with one win apiece. It was the home team that claimed the victory both times. However, Friday night’s home team, Stuttgart, are struggling mightily and come up against one of the Bundesliga’s in-form teams.

Frankfurt have scored the second most goals in the Bundesliga (20). Die Adler ran riot in week 8 against Fortuna Dusseldorf scoring seven goals. Striker Luka Jovic tallied five of those himself. Frankfurt’s defence has improved each week. They are averaging just one goal allowed in each of their last four games.

Stuttgart have allowed the Bundesliga’s most goals (21) while scoring the second fewest. With Frankfurt’s defence playing well, it is unlikely Stuttgart will get the goals to beat their opponents. Stuttgart have collected four points from 12 at home while Frankfurt have registered seven from 15 on the road.

It took Hutter and his new-look Frankfurt time to gel. They are now playing well and getting the results that matter. Frankfurt are rested having not played a cup match this week, which will benefit them. Frankfurt will pick up their fifth win of the season and crack the Bundesliga’s top six.
