Group F is the final group in the European Championship to play their first round of games and all four teams will believe they can progress to the knockout stages.

The game between Turkiye and Georgia will be played on the 18th of June at Signal Iduna Park. This will be the sixth time Turkiye have played in the competition but will be a new experience for Georgia, who are participating in their first European Championship.

Turkiye come into the match on the back of a 2-1 defeat against Poland in a friendly prior to the start of the tournament. It was Poland who opened the scoring in the 12th minute to lead 1-0 at the interval. Into the second half and Turkiye equalised in the 77th minute but conceded the winning goal 13 minutes later.

The defeat to Poland means Turkiye have failed to win any of their 5 most recent fixtures in all competitions. There have been friendly defeats against Hungary and Austria, the latter of which was a disappointing 6-1 loss and a 1-1 draw at Wales in European Championship qualifying.

Trends show Turkiye were undefeated in 7 of their 8 European Championship qualifying matches. The Turks saw under 2.5 goals scored in 4 of their last 5 European Championship qualifiers.

In terms of the tournament itself, Turkiye have a poor record of 6 defeats in their last 7 European Championship fixtures.

Georgia arrive at Signal Iduna Park having beat Montenegro 3-1 in a friendly on the 9th of June. Georgia led 2-0 at half time thanks to goals in the 10th and 33rd minutes. Into the second half and Montenegro pulled one back in the 66th minute but Georgia sealed the victory with their third goal in the 83rd minute.

The win over Montenegro means Georgia are undefeated in 6 of their 7 most recent fixtures in all competitions. There have been wins over Luxembourg and Cyprus at home in European Championship qualifying plus a penalty shootout success over Greece at home in the European Championship playoff final. Georgia also beat Thailand 8-0 in a friendly and were held to a 2-2 draw at home by Scotland in European Championship qualifying.

The stats show Georgia were undefeated in 4 of their final 5 European Championship qualifying games. They kept a clean sheet in 3 of those 5 matches.

Team news and Turkiye are without central defender Çağlar Söyüncü and striker Enes Ünal who both withdrew from the squad due to injury. Arda Güler of Real Madrid could start in attacking midfield with Hakan Çalhanoğlu operating in central midfield.

Georgia have doubts over the fitness of Solomon Kverkvelia and Otar Kiteishvili. Georges Mikautadze and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia are expected to play in attack.

Our algorithm suggests this is going to be a close game and we expect to see under 2.5 goals scored. Georgia may be playing in their first European Championship but they enter the tournament in better form than Turkiye. One goal could be all it takes to win and that goal could go to Georgia.
