In the early hours of Sunday morning, the struggling New England Revolution will aim to stop the rot when the high-flying New York Red Bulls come to town.

Having played 14 matches, the Revs find themselves five points adrift at the foot of the Eastern Conference, with fourth-placed RBNY sitting six points shy of the summit.

Although New England have played fewer games the most teams, they need to turn things around quickly. Continue reading to discover what Forebet’s algorithm predicts.

Let’s start by looking at the hosts, New England, who have taken just 10 points from a possible 42 this season, recording three wins, one draw and 10 losses.

The Revs have lost six of their previous eight MLS clashes, failing to score in four of those defeats, although they claimed a 2-1 victory over Nashville SC last time out.

It is also worth noting that New England have managed to win just one of their seven home league games this year, losing each of the previous three.

Despite ending a three-game losing streak last time out, the Revs will struggle to secure back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

At the opposite end of the standings, the New York Red Bulls have lost only three of their 16 games, picking up eight wins and five draws along the way.

The Red Bulls also boast the second-best offensive record in the Eastern Conference, having scored 29 goals this year (1.8 goals per game).

Last time out, RBNY claimed a 1-0 victory over Orlando City SC, meaning they have won four of their previous five matches while scoring 13 goals (2.6 goals per game).

It is worth remembering, however, that all three of the Red Bulls’ defeats this season have come on the road, so they will be eager to avoid a slip-up this weekend.

Head-to-head: The Red Bulls have won four of their last five MLS meetings with the Revs, scoring nine goals in the process (1.8 goals per game).

Given that six of their previous eight MLS encounters have produced over 2.5 goals, New England and RBNY are expected to serve up another high-scoring clash.

Team news: New England’s injury list features Brandon Bye (knee), Tomas Chancalay (knee), Nacho Gil (knee), Tommy McNamara (hamstring) and Peyton Miller (foot).

On the flip side, the Red Bulls’ injury list contains Ronald Donkor (hip), Roald Mitchell (knee), Serge Ngoma (knee) and Peter Stroud (ankle).

When you couple New England’s poor record with the Red Bulls’ impressive form, all the stats and trends point towards an away win.

Forebet predicts that New England will suffer yet another defeat on home soil, with the Red Bulls scoring over 1.5 goals on their way to victory.
