Due to scheduling, Internacional have games in hand over their group rivals. Group leader, Belgrano from Argentina, have already finished their group stage schedule, with 12 points.
Ecuador’s Delfin are second in the group, having tallied eight points. Internacional will begin Wednesday’s match with five points and will play Delfin on the final day of the group stage. There is a lot for Internacional to play for.
The teams played previously in the group stage, with the match ending nil-nil. Attacking football wasn’t on offer in their first meeting. Fans will hope the match on Wednesday is far more entertaining.
Internacional go into the game unbeaten in back-to-back Brazilian Serie A matches. A 1-1 draw with Atletico GO was followed by a 1-0 win over Cuiaba.
Internacional have not scored many goals on the domestic front, tallying just five in five games.
