It leaves Fiorentina adrift of Bologna in fourth by 14 points, but they are only seven behind Atalanta, so the gap could be cut down to four on the Europa Conference League spot with a win.
What’s more, all three points would also see the Florence side jump above the champins Napoli and Lazio too.
It's not all doom and gloom for Fiorentina despite the drop in 10th, however, as this Coppa Italia semi-final two-legged affair is also being played around the Europa Conference League quarter-final against Viktoria Plzen, which takes place next week.
