However, by losing to Mallorca soon after, Girona fell even further behind Real Madrid.
They did manage to get a win over Osasuna recently, as Savio scored once more alongside a finish from Portu.
On the other hand, a 1-0 defeat to Getafe last time out now puts the club in third and behind Real by 10 points and adrift of Barcelona in second by two points.
In total, Girona have managed to lose five games now, draw the other five and also win 19 times.
Nevertheless, despite losing second place, the club do see themselves ahead of fifth-placed Atletico Madrid by seven points, so a spot in the Champions League is still well on the cards.
