Two teams in contrasting bouts of form come into this game desperate for a win with Everton welcoming Chelsea to Goodison Park with the Toffees now out of the relegation zone despite a 10-point deduction.

In fact, quite incredibly, if you were to add those 10 points back on to Everton’s current tally of 10, they would sit one point above Chelsea and within the top 10 and only adrift of Newcastle United by six points.

Ultimately, even with the points taken off, it’s been a great season for Everton in a campaign where they were expected to fight the drop.

Although they could be mathematically above Chelsea, they are not, and the Toffees remain just one point above the relegation zone after moving out of the bottom three during the week.

This came as a result of Luton Town losing in the final few seconds to Arsenal, just as Sean Dyche led his side to a fantastic 3-0 win over Newcastle.

It was arguably the best performance of the season for Everton that Thursday evening, as Dwight McNeil scored a fantastic solo goal late on before Abdoulaye Doucoure netted in the 86th minute, just as Beto scored with basically the final touch of the game.

This was also the second win in a row for Dyche side and their fifth victory since a mid-October loss in the Merseyside derby to Liverpool.

This run after that loss to their neighbours saw them beat West Ham United in the Premier League before a victory over Burnley in the EFL Cup round of 16.

Dyche then drew with Brighton before wins over Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest and a loss to Manchester United.

As for Chelsea, they continue to struggle. The Blues are down in 10th still with five wins on the board, which is one less than Everton's tally.

Mauricio Pochettino has simply failed to change the fortune of last season, and with a midweek loss to Manchester United, they are now already 11 points behind the top four.

Chelsea's last win came against Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend, but they have also drawn 4-4 with Manchester City and lost 4-1 to Newcastle United in the past month which now means 11 goals have been conceded within the past four matches.

Forebet predicts a win for Chelsea in this game and for the match to see under 2.5 goals.
