After victories each in midweek in the Copa del Rey second round, Rayo Vallecano will welcome Celta Vigo to the Estadio de Vallecas with the away side becoming desperate for a win already after a terrible run of form.

After a 1-1 draw with Cadiz, Celta Vigo are down in the relegation zone with just one win from their 15 matches so far.

This has seen the club also suffer eight losses and score just 15 goals.

This means only Osasuna, Cadiz and Mallorca have more, while even the two sides below them in the table, Almeria and Granada, have racked up more goals.

Jorgen Strand Larsen scored for Celta Vigo last time out in a draw with Cadiz, as the club had 28 shots that day in what was one of their best displays of the season.

Celta Vigo were also in action on Thursday in the Copa del Rey, which now means this will be their third match all within one week.

The club met with Sestao in that cup outing, as Anastasios Douvikas scored a goal in either half, although, once again they didn't look great and also saw Unai Nunez score an own goal in the second half.

Celta Vigo's only win in La Liga has been over last-placed Almeria, all the way back at the start of September, as the club have gone on to lose to the likes of Las Palmas, Atletico Madrid, Girona, Mallorca and Barcelona, although they did at least get three goals in a 4-3 loss away to Athletic Club, which is somewhat commendable.

Six draws have also come in for Rafael Benítez's men, as the former Liverpool and Real Madrid manager continues to struggle in Spain right now, despite his illustrious career in his homeland that saw him win two La Liga titles with Valencia.

In fact, Benítez remains the only manager this century to dethrone Barcelona and the two Madrid giants in La Liga.

As for Vallecano, it’s been another mediocre season for them. The club head into this one with a spot in 11th, although they did also beat Yeclano in the second round of the cup during the week.

Vallecano are, however, on a five-game winless run in La Liga since defeating Las Palmas on the road, as Real Sociedad, Real Madrid and Barcelona all drew with them, as they were smashed by Athletic Club 4-0 last time out.

Forebet predicts a draw here and under 2.5 goals.
