Another round of World Cup qualifying action is upon us this Thursday when Colombia play hosts to Brazil with the home side sitting unbeaten after four games while the five-time world champions have lost once.

In fact, only the reigning world champions Argentina sit with a perfect record of four wins from four games with Brazil suffering a loss to Uruguay last time out where they were beaten 2-0 and with only four shots on target.

They also managed to draw 1-1 with Venezuela before this, as Gabirel Magalhaes scored a goal in the second half before a late equaliser.

Other results this World Cup qualifying campaign have seen Brazil edge past Peru 1-0 where Marquinhos scored in the 90th minutes to steal all three points, as they also smashed Bolivia 5-1 with a goal in either half from Rodrygo.

Neymar also continued to prove why he is the country's all-time top scorer with two goals alongside a finish from Raphina. Brazil had 11 shots on target that day from 80% of the ball.

The five-time world champions now sit with seven points, seven goals scored and four let in with their two wins from two games, as they also meet with Argentina in the following game after this.

Other results in 2023 and since the World Cup have seen Brazil only defeat Guinea in a 4-1 victory back in June where Joelinton, Rodrygo, Eder Militao and Vinicius Junior all scored a goal each. They did, however, also lose to Morocco and Senegal during this period after the World Cup too.

As for Colombia, they have just one victory so far in their World Cup qualifiers, beating Venezuela back in September with a finish from Rafael Santos Borre Maury early on in the second half.

Ever since then, the Colombians have registered only draws, as Uruguay, Ecuador and Chile have all managed to draw with them.

James Rodriguez would return to the scoresheet in that 2-2 draw with Uruguay, as Matues Uribe also bagged in the second half alongside a red card for Camilo Vargas.

Alongside Argentina, this does put Colombia as the only unbeaten side left in the CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifiers.

Elsewhere in 2023, Colombia have managed to defeat Germany, Japan and Iraq, while drawing with the USA and South Korea.

Forebet now predicts another draw here and for the game to see under 2.5 goals.
