The Rome Derby highlights Sunday’s football in Italy. Rome will try to end Lazio’s two-game winning streak in the derby, as they try to crack Serie A’s top five with a win.
Lazio, like Roma, have had a slow start to the campaign. The Biancocelesti are 10th in the division, with 16 points from 11 games. Every time Maurizio Sarri’s team looks like they are getting into form, they stumble.

Lazio are coming off a 1-0 loss away to Bologna, which ended a three-game winning streak in Serie A.
Roma, on the other hand, are coming off a 2-1 win over Lecce. It was their fourth win in the last five Serie A matches.
Roma are just one point ahead of Lazio in the Serie A standings. A win for either team in the derby could spur them to push up the table.
Lazio’s second-place finish last season makes their poor start to the new campaign even worse.
Lazio won four of their last six games versus Roma, including both Serie A matches last term. Due to both teams playing at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, neither side will have a home-field advantage.
The Biancocelesti took 12 points from their last six matches in Serie A, scoring eight goals and conceding five times. This season’s Lazio are not the free-flowing goalscorers of the last couple of campaigns.
Striker Ciro Immobile isn’t having the impact on Lazio’s attack like in the past. Although a Lazio legend, Immobile has just three goals in 10 Serie A games.
In comparison, Roma’s Romelu Lukaku has six of the team’s 22 goals this term. Lukaku helped the Giallorossi take 12 points from their last six games in Serie A. The team scored 10 goals and conceded seven times.
Roma coach Jose Mourinho will be without midfielder Leandro Paredes due to a suspension. Leonardo Spinazzola, Tammy Abraham, and Marash Kumbulla are all three ruled out with injuries.
Midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini and defender Chris Smalling could both return from injuries.
Sarri has fewer injury headaches midfielder Mattia Zaccagni is ruled out with a knee injury. Defender Nicolo Casale is unlikely to make the squad following a muscle injury.
Although Lazio won their last two games versus Roma, the Giallorossi should post a narrow 2-1 win on Sunday. Roma are in better form currently and should post a victory in the Derby della Capitale. Lukaku could be the hero in Rome, with a goal.
