Atletico Madrid will go in search of a seventh successive La Liga victory when they take on Las Palmas at Estadio Grand Canaria on Friday night.

Having taken 25 points from a possible 30 this season, Atletico find themselves third in the table – three points behind Real Madrid and Girona with a game in hand.

Thanks to a run of three wins in four matches, Las Palmas occupy 10th place in the standings, although they trail Diego Simeone’s side by 11 points.

Las Palmas head into Friday’s clash on the back of a dominant 3-0 victory over Manacor in the first round of the Copa del Rey.

As a result, Los Amarillos have won four of their last five encounters across all competitions, with five victories coming in their previous seven.

Las Palmas have claimed some notable scalps in the league of late, dispatching Granada, Celta Vigo, Villarreal and Almeria.

Having lost just four of their last 26 home games in all competitions, Los Amarillos will fancy their chances of picking up a positive result at Estadio Grand Canaria.

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid claimed a 2-1 victory over Deportivo Alaves last time out, meaning they have won each of their previous six La Liga clashes.

Diego Simeone’s men have now avoided defeat in each of their last nine game across all competitions, securing seven wins and two draws along the way.

When you look at the bigger picture, Atletico have lost just one of their 13 matches this season, enjoying success in both La Liga and the Champions League.

Boasting the joint-best offensive record and the second-best defensive record in La Liga, Simeone’s men will back themselves to get the job done on Friday.

Head-to-head: Atletico Madrid have won each of their previous three meetings with Las Palmas, scoring a whopping 13 goals while keeping two clean sheets.

To make matters worse for Las Palmas, they have only managed to win one of their previous nine matches against Atletico, suffering eight defeats in the process.

Team news: Las Palmas look set to be without the injured duo of Fabio Gonzalez (ankle) and Sandro Ramirez (muscle) for the foreseeable future.

On the flip side, Atletico’s injury list features Memphis Depay (muscle), Thomas Lemar (Achilles), Samuel Lino (knee), Reinildo Mandava (knee) and Vitolo (knee).

Although Las Palmas have enjoyed plenty of success in recent weeks, Atletico Madrid are expected to extend their winning streak on Friday.

Forebet predicts that Atletico Madrid will make light work of Las Palmas, with the hosts expected to score over 2.5 goals while keeping a clean sheet.
