Wolverhampton Wanderers will welcome Newcastle United to Molineux this weekend with the Magpies heading into this one after a loss during the midweek Champions League games but still in excellent form across the season.

There’s a lot to shout about for Newcastle in 2023/24 with the club into the last 16 of the EFL Cup after beating Manchester City at home and sitting in a solid spot in both Europe and the Premier League.

On the other hand, they were beaten by Borussia Dortmund in the last outing at St. James’ Park.

Eddie Howe’s side did have four shots on target that day, but they were ultimately dealt a huge reality check with the competitive levels of the Champions League after that 1-0 loss to the Bundesliga side.

Last weekend, Newcastle smashed Crystal Palace 4-0 with a goal early on from Jacob Murphy, while Anthony Gordon and Sean Longstaff's sensational seasons continued with a goal each in the first half.

Callum Wilson would add another in the second 45.

Howe's side drew 2-2 with West Ham United before that and now sit sixth in the Premier League with 24 goals scored and only nine goals let in.

It gives them the best goals difference record in the league and puts them only behind the top four by four points.

Worryingly for Howe, there are a bunch of injuries and issues to deal with for his team.

Elliot Anderson is out injured and it seems as if Alexander Isak will be out for a few games after coming off after a handful of minutes against Dortmund.

Harvey Barnes is also out injured until February, while Sandro Tonali's season is over with a 10-month suspension.

Sven Botman is still out too alongside Lewis Miley, while Murphy is facing a late fitness test.

Wolves don't have too many injuries and they will still be without Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and Hugo Bueno in this one.

Mario Lemina can return after his suspension ended, as can Nelson Semedo.

The Midlands side are sitting down in 12th right now and with just three wins on the board, although they have managed to beat Manchester City in this period with four other losses on the board.

Once again, however, they have scored just a handful of goals with only 11 going in from nine games.

Forebet predicts a win here for Newcastle and for the game to see over 2.5 goals.
