The first Derby della Madonnina of the season will go down on Saturday, with arch-rivals Inter Milan and AC Milan renewing hostilities at the iconic San Siro.

The old foes have both won each of their opening three Serie A matches this season, meaning they are locked on nine points at the summit of the table.

It is also worth noting that both teams have scored eight league goals this term, while Inter are yet to concede at the opposite end of the pitch.

Inter kicked off their campaign with successive 2-0 victories over Monza and Cagliari, with Lautaro Martinez scoring three of those four goals.

Prior to the international break, Inter thrashed Fiorentina 4-0 at the San Siro, thanks largely to another brace from Martinez.

Following a strong end to the previous campaign, Inter have lost just one of their last 11 league matches, scoring on every occasion.

Having notched three victories without conceding a single goal this term, the 2020-21 champions will be confident of regaining the Serie A crown in 2023-24.

Meanwhile, Milan defeated Bologna 2-0 on the opening weekend before thrashing Torino 4-1, with Olivier Giroud contributing three goals across those victories.

Giroud found the back of the net once again as Milan claimed a 2-1 win against Jose Mourinho’s Roma last time out, although Fikayo Tomori was sent off midway through the second half.

It is worth noting that Milan have avoided defeat at half time in each of their previous 14 Serie A matches, highlighting the fact that they tend to start strongly.

When you look at the bigger picture, Milan have lost just one of their last 14 league encounters, so they will back themselves to avoid defeat on Saturday.

Head-to-head: Inter and Milan met five times last season, with Inter triumphing on four occasions, including two Champions League semi-final wins.

On top of that, Milan have only managed to win two of their previous 11 matches against Inter across all competitions, suffering seven defeats in that time.

Team news: Inter will be without injured centre-back Francesco Acerbi this weekend, while Stefano Sensi is a doubt for Saturday’s clash.

As for Milan, they are still without Ismael Bennacer as the Algerian defensive midfielder continues to recover from injury.

Saturday’s showdown is destined to be a fiery encounter between two bitter rivals, meaning we should see plenty of action at both ends of the pitch.

Forebet predicts that both teams will find the back of the net on Saturday, although Milan look set to edge their bitter rivals this time around.
