Internazionale won their last four matches against Cagliari in Serie A. On Monday night, the Nerazzurri are aiming for a fifth consecutive win over the Islanders in Serie A.
Simone Inzaghi’s team picked up a 2-0 win at San Siro against Monza in round No 1. Lautaro Martinez scored on either side of halftime to lead Inter to the win.

Monza didn’t go easily and gave Inter some trouble throughout the game.
Inter only kept 47% of the match’s possession. The Nerazzurri tallied 22 shots but just three were on target. The Inter defence allowed 12 shots to Monza.
Cagliari started their 2023-24 season on Monday night and will play on a Monday for the second consecutive round. The Islanders went to Torino and left with a nil-nil draw.
The Islanders kept just 42% of possession and tallied eight shots. Although Torino had more possession and 11 shots, only two were on target.
Claudio Ranieri took charge of Cagliari in January 2023. He is aiming for a comfortable season in Serie A after the Islanders won promotion from Serie B last term.
Cagliari ended last term in fifth place and obtained promotion courtesy of the playoffs.
The 2021-22 season was the last time these sides met in Serie A. Inter claimed a 4-0 win at San Siro and a 3-1 victory at the Unipol Domus.
Simone used a 3-5-2 formation against Monza, with Martinez and summer signing Marcus Thuram leading the attack.
Mark Arnautovic came off the bench in the second half and collected an assist for Martinez’s second goal. Arnautovic could be in line to start the match, with Thuram making way.
Despite selling Andre Onana, Marcelo Brozovic, and Andrea Pinamonti in the offseason, Inter Milan have regrouped.
The squad is good enough on paper to challenge for the Scudetto this season. Serie A could see the heavyweights of Inter, AC Milan, Juventus, and Napoli all scrap for silverware.
Ranieri will use a 3-4-3 formation. After playing out a nil-nil draw against Torino, Ranieri may change up the attack against Inter.
However, the veteran head coach may set out the Islanders to frustrate Inter and get a draw.
Forward Gianluca Lapadula is ruled out with an ankle injury. Midfielder Marco Mancosu is ruled out with a knee injury.
Midfielder Marco Rog is unlikely to play. He is still recovering from a ligament injury.
Inzaghi’s only injury issue could be defender Francesco Acerbi. He is nursing a muscle issue, and it could keep him on the sidelines.
Inter won their last four games versus Cagliari and on Monday night, the Nerazzurri should make it a fifth straight win. Inter Milan should post a 3-1 victory away.
