The Premier League weekend continues with Bournemouth and West Ham United battling it out at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday with both sides tipped to struggle in the 2023/24 season after the action from last campaign.

West Ham United had an up and down season last time out. The club were dealt their lowest finish in the Premier League for three years and fought relegation for the most part of the season.

In the end, the Hammers managed to stay above the relegation zone by six points with their 11 victories and seven draws.

At the same time, with them losing 20 times, only Bournemouth managed to lose more for those outside of the relegation zone.

West Ham would also go on to score just 42 goals throughout the season and let in 55 goals, and although this was a much better goals difference than most of those around them, it summed up a tough season for the London side.

Despite struggles on the domestic front, West Ham would go on to secure their first major trophy in Europe since winning the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup back in 1976 after beating Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League final.

David Moyes' men would not lose a single game throughout the entire Europa Conference League season, and in the final Said Benrahma would net a penalty before a winner from Jarrod Bowen in the 80th minute.

However, things haven't got much better for West Ham this summer after the departure of Declan Rice to Arsenal.

Worse yet, despite selling the club captain for £105 million, West Ham have only gone on to buy Edson Alvarez from Ajaz and Sean Moore from Cliftonville.

Moyes has also seen Manuel Lanzini, Nikola Vlasic, Arthur Masuaku and Gianluca Scamacca depart the club this summer transfer window, leaving a huge gap in the club across the squad, particularly in the attacking areas.

As for Bournemouth, they've brought in Justin Kluivert, Romain Faivre, Hamad Traore, Alex Scott and Max Aarons in what has turned out to be one of the most impressive transfer windows from the 20 Premier League sides.

Former Rayo Vallecano manager, Andoni Iraola, has also taken the helm for the Cherries this season after the departure of Gary O'Neil and he should be confident heading into the new season after such a fantastic transfer window,

Forebet predicts a win for Bournemouth and for the game to see over 2.5 goals.
