FC Nürnberg and Hannover 96 keep the 2. Bundesliga action going on Sunday with an early kick off at the Max Morlock Stadion off the back of winless games for both sides on the opening day of the season.

Hannover drew 2-2 with SV Elversberg in their opening 2. Bundesliga encounter last weekend with the club ending up 2-0 down at home inside the first half.

However, a penalty from Cedric Teuchert shortly after Elversberg's second brought one back for them, as Nicolo Tresoldi scored an equaliser in the second half.

Alarmingly, Hannover would face nine shots on target that day.

Hannover had a relatively positive preseason, however, as they managed to lose to only St Pauli from their four outings.

The club would go on to defeat Hildesheim 4-0 shortly afterwards and then beat MSV Duisburg 3-0 just two weeks later.

Hannover's biggest result would be in a 3-0 victory over Villarreal.

Hannover also finished just 10th last season in what was another underwhelming campaign for the club.

They secured only 12 wins and lost 14 times throughout the season and let in 55 goals and scored 50 of their own - this was the most conceded goals for those inside the top 15.

Nurnberg would finish with five fewer points and finish the season in 14th with 10 victories and 15 losses.

However, with just 32 goals scored, they were the lowest-scoring side in the division with 48 goals also let in.

This will also be yet another season for Nurnberg in 2. Bundesliga, as they continue to struggle to get into the top six each year.

Worse yet, the club lost their opening day clash with fellow strugglers from last season, Hansa.

The game finished 2-0, as Nurnberg had just seven shots on target from a total of 15 efforts, as the club also had 64% of the ball that day.

Nurnberg’s preseason did, however, go well. The club defeated Pardubice 1-0 before a 3-1 victory over Diosgyor.

However, the most important result saw them draw 1-1 with Arsenal after also drawing with Hartberg. Kanji Okunuki would score an equaliser that day against Arsenal for Nurnberg.

Forebet predicts a draw in this game after the opening set of fixtures for these two ended without a win. Forebet also predicts the game to see under 2.5 goals.
