Malmo are one point off first-placed Elfsborg in the Allsvenskan standings ahead of matchday 15. The Sky Blues are coming off a shock loss against Mjallby in round No 14, giving Elfsborg an advantage in the title race.

On Monday, Malmo will travel to Djurgardens IF in a top-four fixture. Djurgardens are on a great run of form going into the match.

They went unbeaten in the last six games, picking up four wins and two draws.

The Blue Stripes are eight points off first-placed Elfsborg. A win over Malmo could get them back into the title race while damaging Malmo’s attempts at winning a 23rd Allsvenskan championship.

Malmo had a three-match win streak ended by Majallby in round 14.

Before losing 2-1 at home, the Sky Blues had won three straight games by a combined score of 11-1.

Despite Malmo’s history as one of the Allsvenskan’s top teams, they have not played well against Djurgardens IF in recent seasons.

Djurgardens posted a record of four wins, one draw, and one defeat against Malmo in their last six meetings.

Djurgardens went unbeaten in their last three games with Malmo, including the team’s Swedish Cup fixture played in March.

The cup game finished 2-2 at full-time and Djurgardens progressed thanks to a penalty shootout win.

Malmo’s Anders Christiansen opened the scoring in the 10th minute and could have doubled the lead on 26 minutes.

However, Christiansen missed a penalty. Djurgardens’ Elias Andersson equalised with just four minutes left on the clock.

In extra time, Christiansen scored again to put Malmo up 2-1. Djurgardens weren’t finished, and Hampus Finndell scored just before the referee blew for time.

Djurgardens are second in the current Allsvenskan form table. They took 14 points from the last six games, scoring nine goals and conceding four.

Malmo, on the other hand, picked up 10 points from the last six matches, scoring 14 times and allowing eight goals.

Malmo are playing well on the road, with five wins and one loss in six games.

Unfortunately for the Sky Blues, midfielder Christiansen is set to miss the match. He was diagnosed with a heart condition that will keep him sidelined.

He is the only player currently sidelined for the match.

Isaac Kiese Thelin has 10 goals this season to lead Malmo. He is second in the league in scoring.

Malmo may not have a strong head-to-head record against Djurgardens, but they are playing well this season, especially on the road.

The Sky Blues should get their title challenge back on track with a 3-1 win away to Djurgardens IF.
