On Saturday morning, Yokohama Marinos host Kawasaki Frontale at the Nissan Stadium as the home team looks to end a short winless run in the J-League 1.
The home team is currently top of the J-League table, three points clear of second place Vissel Kobe, who have a game in hand on the league leaders.
Yokohama Marinos' eight-game unbeaten run in all competitions ended last time out, as they suffered a 4-1 defeat at Machida Zlevia in the Emperor’s Cup.
The loss comes on the back of a 2-2 draw at Grampus Eight in their last J-League match that ended a six-game winning run in the Japanese top-flight.
However, eight wins in their previous ten league matches is still an impressive record.
Kevin Muscat’s team is also unbeaten in their last ten home matches in the Japanese top flight, having recorded eight wins and two draws.
Kawasaki Frontale have now recorded back-to-back victories, having seen off Mito Hollyhock in the Emperor's Cup last time out.
The victory also means they have won six of their previous eight matches in all competitions.
However, their recent form in the league has been the definition of inconsistent, as they have won three, lost three and drawn one of their last seven games. The inconsistent run has left the visitors in ninth place in the standings.
Toru Iniki’s team has been poor travellers of late in the J-League 1, as they have failed to win any of their previous four away games in their domestic league.
Their main issue has been conceding too many goals on their travels, as they have conceded at least two goals in three of their last four away games in the Japanese top flight.
